The best frostings are the ones that have both a creamy texture and a bit of bite, said Candace McQueen, the author of the new book “The Most Epic Cupcakes of All Time.”
“When I cook, I’m not thinking about the frosting,” she said.
“I’m thinking about texture.”
McQueen said she uses the word “stunning” to describe the texture of cupcakes.
The cupcakes in the book are mostly sweetened with powdered sugar, which adds a softness to the cupcakes and makes them easier to spread on a cookie sheet.
The recipes include: cupcakes with strawberry buttercream frosting, vanilla custard frosting and strawberry jam frosting.
A cupcake with chocolate frosting would be a sweet treat for any cupcake lover.
